1947
born in Brooklyn New York, Coney Island. Grew up playing
street games like, Kick the Can, Stick Ball, Ring-A-Leavio, Johnny on the Pony, Punch Ball, Slap Ball and
Box Ball. |
 |
1958
started playing guitar. Changed his mind mid stream and
wanted to play the drums. His parents told him if he
wanted to play the drums, “get a job” so that you can
pay for them and you will appreciate them better. And he
did! |
 |
1959
worked
cleaning pots and pans in a bakery part time after
school to make money so that he could buy his 1st
set of drums”Gretch” mother of pearl. |
 |
1960
started to
play drums professionally with a Trio; trumpet, guitar
and drums. The trio started working Club Dates in New
York City and in the Catskills Resorts in up state New
York. The agent that booked the group worked out of the
Tillou Building across from Nathan’s in Coney Island. |
 |
1961
play drums on
1st recording for European artist at Rossi’s
Recording Studio in Brooklyn. While Ardigo was playing
Basket Ball at an after school program a friend came and
told him he was needed to play drums on a recording
session. He stopped playing ball ran over to the studio
and performed his first recording. |
 |
1962
formed the
Atlantics. Two guitars, bass and Ardigo on vocals and
drums. The group worked dances and club dates in the
neighborhood. The Atlantics also worked at the Raleigh
Hotel and the Neville Hotel in the Catskills in up state
New York. Joe Veneri of the Tokens “The Lion Sleeps
Tonight” liked the group and booked them to record at
Bell Sound Studios in New York City.

1963
wrote and
recorded his first original song as a singer songwriter
titled “Too Young to Love” with the Atlantics. Also at
that time performed in the Lafayette High School
Orchestra. Marching Band and Dance Band.

1964
worked
with the Torn Souls as lead singer and guitarist. After
being together for less than one week the Torn Souls
group entered a Battle of the Bands contest at the New
York World’s Fair where they competed with over 25
different bands from all over the east coast. Ardigo and
the Torn Souls won First Prize! First prize was a
recording contract for the band with a small label in
Brooklyn, Desmond Records. Just for that recording date
singer songwriter Ardigo wrote a song titled “I Was
Blinded by Your Love”. Also played drums with
“Pete and the Pirates” on the Zacherly Music hour TV
show on channel 47, performing their first single “Sun
Glasses” |

1965
worked as a
drummer and vocalist with the New Image. The group
worked in and around the New York area as a cover band
and backed up acts Little Anthony and the Imperials, Ben
E. King, the Shirelles, the Drifters, the Coasters,
Chuck Jackson and more. Besides touring throughout the
North East in New York City alone the New Image worked
the Metro pole, Wagon Wheel, Trudy Heller’s, The Bitter
End, the 8th Wonder, and the Cafe Wha. Ardigo
studied classical Guitar and theory at the Brooklyn
Conservatory of Music. |

1966
was drafted by
the US Army and met Frankie Lymon of Frankie Lymon and
the Teenagers. Ardigo performed with Frankie Lymon in
local USO Shows as a guitarist and vocalist while
stationed in Augusta Georgia. He met Frankie Lymon while
playing his guitar one night in a boiler room of one of
the buildings during basic training in Augusta Georgia.
Ardigo would never go any where with out his guitar and
started writing songs more frequently. |

1968
went back to
perform as drummer and vocalist with the New Image. The
group continued to travel as a cover band. While working
with the New Image Ardigo auditioned for Blood Sweat and
Tears as lead vocalist after their 1st. lead
singer Al Kooper left. Ardigo got the job but turned it
down. He didn’t think that the group was going anywhere.
So Ardigo went back on the road with the New Image, a
good paying “steady gig” at that time. The New Image
band also had the opportunity to record a song called
“My Green Tambourine”, which became a #1 hit, but turned
it down! The New Image was an R&B band and didn’t want
to ruin their image by playing a pop song. |

1969
signed with
Hallmark records as a singer songwriter. Recorded
“Summertime in Brooklyn”. “Moon Children” and “Summer
Love”. |
 |
1970 to 1973
worked as a drummer and a vocalist with
the Hip Pocket. The group worked as a Rock and Roll show
band in the north east and the mid west. In New York
City the group played at the Electric Circus, the Bay
Lounge Ungano’s to name a few.

1974 to 1977
joined Rainbow Orchestras
and worked club dates as drummer, bass player, guitarist
and vocalist. |

1978 to 1979
joined Jon Lawrence
Orchestras and worked club dates as drummer, bass
player, guitarist and vocalist. |
 |
In the 70’s
worked as a free lance
musician for booking agent Nat Mash. Ardigo had the
pleasure of working at Rockefeller Center as a drummer
and backed up the Bee Gees at one of their guest
appearances. Also worked as vocalist and bassist
with Johnny & Joe Duo. |
 |
In the 80’s
formed original rock
group “War Horse” and recorded a live video in New York
City. Ardigo performed as guitarist and singer
songwriter of all the material in the video. The group
worked the Orange Bear, Kenny’s Castaways, Folk City,
The Bitter End and other New York City clubs. |
 |
In the 90’s
formed original R&B band
“Spice of Life” and worked in New York City at various
night clubs and performed concerts in the New York City
Parks. Ardigo went into the studio with “Spice of Life”
and this time as a bassist and singer songwriter of all
the material in the album titled “Blues Print for Life. |
 |
2000
formed another
original band “Full Circle” and performed and worked in
various clubs in New York City, City Parks and Street
Fairs. |
 |
2003
Ardigo
records his “Summertime in Brooklyn” C-D his tribute to
Brooklyn, N.Y. Also records “No Escape” C-D about lost
loves. |
 |
2004 Ardigo
records his “Fighting Back” C-D; theme is fighting in
the ring of life. And in 2004 he opens his own
publishing company “Spiritual Warrior Music”. |
 |
2005
Ardigo records his “Desert Fox “C-D a tribute to the
women warriors of Iraq. And in 2005 opens up web site,
Spiritual Warrior Music.com

Ardigo is working as a solo artist and in the process of
recording his next C-D |
